Over the years of practice, Dr. Gibson has recognized the emotional and stressful toll seizures and chronic conditions can take on a family. Especially those early into a diagnosis.
The demands on veterinarians have drastically increased over the years, making it harder to devote long periods of time to each owner to discuss the numerous aspects of seizures, chronic medical conditions, and even extended conversations about general health. This is where we come in! We want to be a supplementary resource of trusted information for owners!
These offerings are based on a similar structure used in human medicine for newly diagnosed diabetics. These sessions are aimed at helping you help your pet, and understand the conditions or stages of life your pet is in!

We cannot discuss your pet’s specific medical care plan or make specific changes to their medications as we do not have what most states consider a Valid Veterinary-Client-Patient-Relationship. In almost all states, this currently requires an in-person exam. While we are limited in discussing individual pets’ treatment protocols, we can help you develop questions to ask your vet or give you basic information to improve your knowledge and awareness about medications, monitoring, and general topics to allow you to be the BEST advocate for your pet!!

Currently, we do not offer direct online medical appointments for pets. We are often monitoring the legal landscape as changes to telemedicine come around. Dr. Gibson and other specialists do offer Vet-to-Vet consultations via the Stratocyte.com Specialist Marketplace.

Ryan Gibson, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology) is a veterinary neurologist with a special interest in veterinary education for clients and veterinary students. He loves demystifying veterinary neurology for pet owners and students alike! He also enjoys working with veterinarians to improve general practice care of neurological patients, especially when referral is not an option.
Dr. Gibson works with researchers in academia to explore new compounds aimed at treating neuropathic pain, chronic pain, and neuro-inflammatory conditions. He also works with researchers to evaluate translational age models to help better understand disease timelines and how the neurological system ages across different species. It is this wide array of experiences and endeavors that allows Dr. Gibson to speak to a vast array of experience levels on a wide variety of topics.
